[start rant]
Did you know that there was such a thing as the ring tone market? Customizable ring tones for cell phones. That’s what I’m talking about. That market has topped $1 billion globally. That means people around the world have collectively spent $1 billion dollars to give their cell phone an ANNOYING ring!
Personally, I really don’t understand that. When customizable ring tones first came out, I was able to download the Inspector Gadget theme to my phone. It was cool at the time since it was new, but nowadays my phone stays on vibrate and I have no desire to PURCHASE a new ring tone. What is this need to have your phone sound like an 80’s synthesizer or play a rendition of the latest Top 40 hit? Maybe I’m just getting older, but I just don’t get it. I think it’s pretty stupid really.
While I’m ranting, I’d also like to mention how much I hate those people walking around wearing cell phone headsets. It’s ok if you’re actually TALKING on the phone, but there are plenty of people here in LA that are trying to make it a fashion statement.
[end rant]
