Class Improv #13: Critique

Today was another successful improv. Melissa did a good job in portraying ecstasy which made it hard for me to really pursue my objective of trying to win her back. I spent most of the improv trying to figure out why she was acting so strange and what exactly did she take. Tom said that in reality, that was all I could really do. It would seem strange if I tried to pour out my heart to someone who was that disconnected from reality.

On a different note, I started to really appreciate the talent and ability of one of the other actors in class. This guy reminds me of De Niro or Pacino because of his Italian looks, his New York accent and his emotional intensity. He has the ability to connect with real deep emotions. The anger and sadness he has demonstrated in class can be very intense at times which is very interesting to watch. I find myself wishing that I could dig up half the emotion intensity he is able to connect to. I guess it just takes practice…
