How Stella Got Her Groove Back - (The Remix)

I think someone needs to do a film similar to How Stella Got Her Groove Back but make it about a women who goes to Jamaica to escape her crazy executive life and falls in love with a young athletic Chinese Jamaican who is a runner and wishes to join the Jamaican bobsled team…

Or some other story where a very attractive leading lady falls for a very attractive athletic Chinese Jamaican. Wouldn’t that be great? It definitely would catch people’s attention.

I bring all this up because I have been receiving interesting emails from people who are Chinese Jamaican. They have stories that should be shared with others.

Back in class…

Tonight I was back in class after the short Thanksgiving break. A couple of the scenes are now “on their feet” which means that the lines are memorized and the actors include movement in the scene (before we were all just performing the scenes sitting at a table on-stage). I continue to be impressed by the progress everyone is making with the training. People have very convincing accents (Texan, Manchester) and there is full emotion in the scenes. Blocking is still being worked on, which sometimes trips up the performers, but all the scenes are progressing nicely. I actually didn’t perform tonight. I will now be performing at Sat classes for Tom. My partner and I have actually scheduled two rehersals for this Thurs and Fri so we can be full force on Sat and get the approval from our acting coach to put our scene on it’s feet as well. The notes I am working on for my scene is to really be brash. Tom thought I was being to formal. I need to loosen up my character a bit and give him more colors in the scene. I need to portray a no-nonsense, hard-hitting, powerful man who hates women, yet is very attracted to this women whom he perceives is undermining him.

At the moment…

This is a glamorous photo of me sitting at the computer trying to think of what to write in this blog entry…

My Smartphone is a HUGE distraction!!!

I have so much to do yet I find myself OBSESSED in tweaking and hacking my mpx200 smartphone. This is the coolest phone I have ever had and the customization, tweaks, hacks and installable games and applications has really got me distracted. I’ve become the tech-geek again. But I must keep focused on my goal.

I WANT TO BE A WORKING ACTOR.

And the time I’ve wasted playing with my cell phone is time I could have spent working on my career and working on my craft.
