…for a “Made for TV” movie. Only problem is that Heather and I spent $22 tonight to see it in a theater. The dialogue was very soap-opera melodramatic and a lot of the scenes seemed contrived. At times I felt Troy was a Gladiator/Braveheart wannabe. I spent most of the movie almost laughing at the dialogue and not really caring about any of the characters. Live or die, I didn’t care. Although, there were a couple of action sequences - including the extended fight scene with Brad Pitt - that were pretty good. Brad Pitt is definitely charismatic and interesting to watch but I regret that I spent $22 to see this epic. This is definitely a rental.
BTW, I’m not the only one who feels this way about the movie. There were plenty of other people who laughed at some of the dialogue and made negative comments about the movie after the credits started rolling.
