On Saturday, Heather and I (with the help of our friend Jeff as the camera man) shot a video of us giving a tour of our house restoration. I then spent the rest of the weekend trying to figure out how to edit the video and produce a DVD version. What was suppose to be a “simple edit session” turned into hours of researching and tinkering with software and hardware. What I ultimately discovered is that I need new video equipment. My 5 year old Hi-8 video camera with only analog connections forces me to use an analog to digital converter just to get the video into the computer to edit. The quality is also pretty bad. But it was a good introduction into video editing and production. It gets me one-step closer to making my own movie.
I’ll post the web version of our video tour soon…
