It’s been a while since my last entry. Honestly recently I’ve been feeling pretty un-inspired, un-creative, un-motivated, and generally depressed. I can’t seem to focus on things lately. But things have been moving along. Last weekend I traveled to Washington DC to play the small role of detective in a short film entitled “Mother’s Day”. Other than the fact that my call time changed everyday up to the actual shoot, and they only had 15min to shoot my scene, it was fun. We got to visit my brother in VA and H’s friends in MD. Walking around the capitol in 95 degree heat and 100% humidity is not recommended though. I think I lost 2lbs in sweat from just walking.
I’m STILL finishing the edit on the short film “Supernova”, and this coming Friday is the 1st day of principal photography for the comedy pilot “Jake-Off”. We finally found a location for our shoot - a downtown loft apartment in a very sketchy neighborhood. Should be interesting. At least it’s close to my house.
I also have an audition coming up for Pepsi. Here’s the catch - I have to be able to play “The devil went down to Georgia” on my violin fiddle. I was called by my agency on Friday and asked if I was good enough to play it. I said maybe, but that it might take me a while to learn. Since I didn’t hear back from them that day I figured the casting director passed on me. But today I get the call and they really want me to be able to play that song so I dusted off my violin, found the sheet music online and was able to learn the first 30seconds of the piece. Should be good enough for the audition. I think I have a pretty good chance at getting this. I also happen to be going out for “the devil”! Luckily I impressed myself on how well I’m still able to play even though I haven’t touched my violin in YEARS. We’ll see how it goes!
